What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic! Made from a type of plastic called PBT. They come in different lengths, curls, diameters and colors. The lashes I use are a silk style – nice and soft.
How are they applied?
One by one with adhesive to your natural lash. No lash (natural, extension or combination thereof) should be stuck together if I’m doing my job correctly. Safety and health of your lashes comes first.
Adhesive? Like glue?
Our adhesives are pretty special. Not just any ol’ craft glue. The adhesives I use are low fume, cure quickly and have great retention (hold). There is a low occurence of irritation in my experience with these adhesives which is why I continue to use them. I can give you the low down on cyanoacrylates in person if you’d like. I love talking lashy science with clients who are curious.
Ok, so what happens at my appointment?
First, a consultation. I want to get to know you, your eyes and your lashes. There are lots of factors to consider when designing a set for you. Then I will guide you to a comfy bed, cover you up and get to work. A couple hours later you, sleeping beauty, will awake with fresh lashes and a sudden desire to eye flirt…with everyone
How do I take care of my new lashes?
Great question! I have a great option for you. A foam cleanser and brush that get right to the root of your lashes. It’s important to keep these pretties clean not just to preserve your lash extensions from dirt, makeup, oils etc but also your eyes! Aftercare is a must if you’re one of my lash babes. Your lashes will retain better, your eyes will be healthier and it feels great.
What is the difference between classic and volume?
Classic is one lash extension to one natural lash. There are a few diameters I can choose from but I mostly use .15.
Volume is an advanced technique that involves multiple lightweight extensions hand made into a delicate fan and placed on your natural lash. Fans can be 2D-6D depending on the diameter of extensions I’m using and your natural lash. Also known as Russian or American volume. Russian volume is a dense, perfect line of lashes. American volume is a more textured look.
All sets are designed around your natural lash! Not everyone gets the same look nor can they handle it. What works for one person certainly may not for the next. Customization is key here and I work hard to get the best and most fabulous look for you…and to keep you in that look as long as possible!
Does it hurt?
No. Most people fall asleep. Bring a book on tape and earbuds if you wish. This is YOUR time to decompress. Use it.
P.S. Lash extensions should never hurt.
What if I already have lashes?
Call me. We’ll chat. It all depends on the situation. Sometimes they need to be removed and we start fresh. Sometimes I can work around it.
How do I make an appointment?
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe, physical exfoliation of the top layers of skin with a surgical blade. The blade is gently stroked at an angle along your skin removing dead skin cells and vellus hair as well. This treatment helps with dullness, dryness and excessive peach fuzz. Removing the dead skin cells will reveal soft, fresh, smooth skin that is ready to absorb your skin care products deeper for more efficacy. Makeup application will be flawless.
What is included in the dermaplane treatment?
The dermaplane treatment includes a double cleanse, prep with an AHA/BHA, dermaplane exfoliation, a light enzyme mask followed by a hydrating repair serum, moisturizer and SPF.
Makeup can be applied directly after. The use of an SPF is strongly recommended after this treatment and in general to protect your skin from sun damage.
Can any skin type be dermaplaned?
Almost every skin type will benefit from dermaplaning. It is not recommended for acneic skin.
